The Brazilian soprano Tatiana Carlos is starting to make her international mark. She received the Ana María Martínez Encouragement Award in the Eleanor McCollum Competition in February 2020, the same year she was awarded an encouragement award at the Rocky Mountain Regional of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and the Study Grant Award from the Premiere Opera Foundation's International Vocal Competition. Other competitions include the Maria Callas International Voice Competition, Brigham Young University’s Young Artist in Voice, Francisco Mignone Chamber Music Competition, Villa-Lobos Chamber Music Competition. Mrs. Carlos was a Resident Artist at Bidu Sayão Opera Academy of Theatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro in the years 2016-2017 and made her professional debut at the same theatre in 2016 as Barena in Jenufa. Last season she debuted as Elisabetta in Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda at Amazonas Opera Festival and was a guest artist in Vittorio Grigolo’s Grandes Vozes Concert at Theatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro. Other roles include Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflote, Irene in Theodora, Micaela in Carmen. She was part of Dolora Zajick’s Institute for Young Dramatic Voices and was one of the singers selected to take part of the masterclasses given by Jette Parker Young Artist Program of ROH in Brazil, working with David Gowland. Other masterclasses include works with Rachel Willis-Sorensen, Sondra Radvanovsky, Carol Vaness, Jane Eaglen, Raphael Sikorski and Michael Fabiano.

Mrs. Carlos graduated in December 2019 with a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance at Brigham Young University. In 2016 Mrs. Carlos graduated from Universidade Federal of Rio de Janeiro with a BA in Vocal Performance.
